Will you apply for a Subclass 485 Visa? Cross Border Education is here to give comprehensive immigration assistance!
Australia's Department of Home Affairs recently announced that the minimum age requirement for a Subclass 485 visa is 50 years. Research applicants under 50 can apply for post-study work visas in Australia.
The minimum age for the Subclass 485 visa stream was 35, except for Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holders. However, the agency kept the age restriction at 50 after assessing the potential impact on the Post-Higher Education Work Stream.
The revised standards allow Master's (research) and doctorate (PhD) students and Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holders under 50 years old to apply for the Subclass 485 visa.
This move intends to retain the government's goal of admitting international students while also balancing the age requirement for pupils.
Note: The 35-year age limit still applies to Master's, Bachelor's, and graduates with associate degrees or vocational programs.
