What is subclass 407 Visa?

The 407 subclass corresponds to the Training Visa. This temporary visa is part of Australia and allows applicants to take part in workplace-based occupational training activities to improve their skills for the job, area of tertiary study, field of expertise, or in a professional development training program in Australia.

This visa is typically granted for up to 2 years, depending on the length of the training program applicants are participating in.

This visa allows you to work as part of your training program. 

Family members (such as spouse or dependent children) may also be able to accompany the visa holder and apply for work or study rights.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be sponsored by a recognized Australian training organization.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrate the required abilities for the training program.
• Applicants must have at least functional English.
• Applicants must demonstrate that they are going to Australia for training, not for employment or tourism.
• Applicants and their family members who apply for the visa must meet health requirements.
• Applicants and their family members aged 16 years and over who apply for the visa with you must meet our character requirement.
