On June 4, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the 349th Express Entry draw, issuing 500 Invitations to Apply under the Healthcare and Social Services Occupations (Version 2) category. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required in this targeted draw was 504.

This draw is part of IRCC’s ongoing effort to attract skilled professionals who can strengthen Canada’s healthcare and social support systems. With aging demographics, staff shortages, and growing demand in medical and community care sectors, Canada continues to prioritize category-based Express Entry draws in 2025.

Express Entry Draw #349 Results

  • Category: Healthcare and Social Services Occupations (Version 2)
  • Date: June 4, 2025
  • Number of Invitations Issued: 500
  • CRS Score of Lowest-Ranked Candidate Invited: 504
  • Tie-breaking rule: March 31, 2025 at 06:47:23 UTC

Why Healthcare and Social Services?

The Government of Canada has been issuing targeted invitations since 2023 under six priority categories. Among these, Healthcare and Social Services remains one of the top focus areas in the Express Entry system due to:

  • National shortages of nurses, care aides, and allied health professionals
  • Increased stress on hospitals and care centers post-COVID
  • A growing elderly population and rural area vacancies
  • Canada’s efforts to build a more inclusive and accessible healthcare system

Eligible Occupations in this Category

The eligible occupations include the following:

  • Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (NOC 31301, 31300)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (NOC 32101)
  • Nurse Aides, Orderlies, and Patient Service Associates (NOC 33102)
  • Social Workers (NOC 41300)
  • Home Support Workers, Caregivers, and Related (NOC 44101)
  • Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202)
  • Paramedics (NOC 32102)
  • Medical Laboratory Technologists and Assistants
  • Occupational and Physical Therapists (NOC 31203, 31202)
  • Respiratory Therapists and Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists
  • Health Policy Researchers, Consultants, and Program Officers

Applicants must prove recent, relevant experience in these roles and meet other Express Entry eligibility requirements to be selected.

What is the CRS and Tie-Breaking Rule?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is calculated based on factors like age, education, work experience, language ability, and additional points for provincial nominations, Canadian experience, or job offers.

In case multiple candidates have the same CRS score at the cut-off, IRCC uses a tie-breaking rule. For this draw, only profiles submitted before March 31, 2025 at 06:47:23 UTC were considered for those scoring exactly 504.

Express Entry Next Draw Prediction

This draw marks Canada’s continued focus on category-based selections, with upcoming draws expected in:

  • STEM occupations (IT, engineering, data analysts)
  • French language proficiency
  • Skilled trades
  • Transport and agriculture occupations

The next draw could take place as early as June 6 or June 10, 2025, depending on IRCC’s updated schedule and annual targets.
