In its latest round of invitations, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the 348th Express Entry draw on June 2, 2025. This draw, the first under new Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab, specifically targeted candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
A total of 277 candidates were invited to apply for Canada Permanent Residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for this draw was 726, significantly higher due to the additional 600 points awarded to candidates with provincial nominations.
This draw marks a more selective approach in 2025, as IRCC adapts to reduced PNP allocations. Previously, the Express Entry draw was held on May 30, 2025, inviting 2,000 candidates under a category-based selection for French-speaking applicants.
Candidates nominated by a province or territory automatically received an extra 600 CRS points, boosting their chances significantly in this round.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s flagship immigration pathway for skilled workers looking to become permanent residents. It manages applications under three key streams:
Eligible applicants create an online profile and receive a CRS score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language skills. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply during regular draws.
After this PNP-specific draw, you can expect a category-based or CEC-specific draw to be held soon, potentially on June 5 or June 6, 2025. As Canada prioritizes labor market needs, the Express Entry next draw prediction may favour applicants in sectors like healthcare, STEM, skilled trades, and French language proficiency.
