A total of 706 candidates were invited to apply for Canada Permanent Residence, with the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required being 511. This draw continues to reflect Canada’s commitment to addressing specific provincial labour market needs

These nominations are issued by provinces to candidates who have the skills, work experience, and qualifications aligned with the local economy. Previously, the Express Entry draw was held on May 2, 2025 inviting 500 candidates into the pool.

What is the Express Entry System?

The Express Entry System is Canada’s immigration tool, introduced to fast-track the process for skilled workers to become permanent residents. It manages profiles under three key categories:

Eligible candidates submit an online profile and receive a CRS score based on factors like age, education, work experience, language ability, and more. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply during regular Express Entry draws.

What to Expect in the Next Express Entry Draw?

Following the May 12th draw, immigration experts at Cross Border Education predict that category-based draws or a potential CEC-specific draw can be conducted on 13 May 2025. With Canada's renewed emphasis on targeted immigration, sectors such as healthcare, STEM, trades, and French language proficiency could see more tailored invitations.

CRS scores are expected to remain competitive, especially for non-PNP draws, where the cut-offs might range between 500-530. Aspiring applicants are encouraged to regularly update their profiles and maximize their CRS scores.
