Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is holding a new Express Entry draw.
IRCC has put in place a very unusual pattern for the Express Entry draw in 2024.
Typically, the Express Entry draw is held once every two weeks. For example, in July, IRCC held nine Express Entry draws, welcoming more than 25,000 candidates.
IRCC conducted only 3 Express Entry draws in September. This has made it difficult to predict when the next Express Entry draw will be held.
Today was the fourth invitation round organized by the department in November.
If you have been invited to this latest Express Entry draw, you will have 60 days to submit a complete application for Permanent Residence (PR) to IRCC.
If this deadline is passed, your Invitation to Apply (ITA) will not be valid.
The latest Express Entry draw was held on November 18, 2024. A total of 174 ITAs were issued to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum CRS score of 816.
Last month in October, IRCC held six Express Entry draws, welcoming 5,961 candidates to apply for Permanent Residence (PR). Currently, IRCC is conducting three types of Express Entry draws:
There is no one-size-fits-all profile that will qualify for Canada PR in the Express Entry draw.
Your chances of receiving an invitation for the upcoming Express Entry draw will depend entirely on your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
The higher your score, the higher your chances of getting an ITA.
The CRS score calculator considers factors like your age, education, work experience, language proficiency and more.
The minimum CRS score and the number of ITAs to be issued in the next Express Entry draw are not published in advance.
With an application processing time of 6 to 8 months, the Express Entry program is currently the most popular option for immigrants to apply for a Canada PR visa.
2024 has been a busy month for Express Entry and IRCC has issued a total of 92,942 ITAs so far.
The same trend of issuing a large number of ITAs with low CRS scores is expected to apply in 2025 as well.
