State nomination provides two skilled migration visa options:

To be eligible for one of the state’s nomination pathways, your occupation must be on the eligible skilled occupation list.

Every state/territory has its own eligibility requirements for nomination. You must ensure that you meet these requirements to be eligible to receive your nomination.

Every state has its own nomination obligations which you need to sign on a declaration form before receiving your nomination. If you are nominated, you must meet those obligations.

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491) - This is a state-sponsored provisional visa for skilled migrants that permits them to live and work in designated regional areas of that state for up to five years and can lead to permanent residency.

To be eligible for one of the state's nomination channels, your occupation must be listed as eligible skilled.

Every state and territory has its own qualifying conditions for nomination. To be eligible for your nomination, you must satisfy the following conditions. Each state has its own nomination requirements, which you must sign on a declaration form before getting your nomination. If you are nominated, you must fulfill your commitments.

Once nominated, the DHA will ask you to apply for your visa. The DHA has its own set of qualifying conditions, which an applicant must complete before a visa may be granted.
